fall face

penciled brows, winged liner + nude lips. the perfect fall face. i recommend using serge lutens liner, last seen here.

apologies for my absence this week, it has been a busy one. lots of projects in the works! the rain clouds are moving in here in houston and i am keeping my fingers crossed for a cool weekend.

leather shorts

leather is a huge trend this season and does not necessarily have to always be sexy + edgy but can be incorporated in a more ladylike, chic way a la olivia palermo. make sure you go for a fuller, longer length to get this effect. a rich, camel colored hue also makes for a more classic look. pair with a long sleeved silk blouse, booties and a pair of burgundy tights to be fall ready and bring in a fur vest as temps drop.

get the tibi shorts here and the black kelly bergin shorts here.

the bianca adventurer

today marks the first official day of fall, and i for one cannot wait to start accessorizing for the cooler temps (that are yet to arrive in houston). hats are my go to accessory for fall; they can make any old pair of jeans look chic and an otherwise ordinary ensemble unique. i love the maison michel hats and the monogrammed M on the satin ribbon but since i cannot find them anywhere online, i found a similar (and more affordable) version c/o bec & bridge. i love venz edit's idea of monogramming the hat with your own initial to give it the maison michel effect on a personal note. get them here.

style tip: pastels are huge on the runway for spring 2012, wear you hat into spring next year and be on trend for the season.

five days, five looks: LSD

my girl, LSD, being her uber-stylish self during NYFW. i could not be more obsessed with her square little proenza bag. more here. she really can do no wrong!

fall wishlist part one

i have so many fun and funky things on my wishlist for fall. feeling very inspired by the kilts and a-line silhouettes paired with knee highs from prada fall2011. i love the idea of this alice and olivia coat over a pair of burgundy knee high socks or brown leather boots. a feminine black dress like this one by carven and a pair of black leather shorts are fall staples for me, and i love the idea of working in the bordeaux color trend with the velvet bag and booties. shop all of my picks here:

1. carven asymmetric dress {here}
2. opening ceremony plaid a-line skirt {here}
3. pamela love obsidian ring {here}
4. alice and olivia sequined wool-blend tweed coat {here}
5. house of harlow 1960 rey bag {here} or in green {here}
6. current/elliot the leopard stiletto {here}

interior inspiration

two things i am very inspired by right now in the interior design world: painted black walls and rust colored silk velvet fabrics mixed with minty greens. i love the way the gold etegeres stand against the black walls and the look of the olive green couch and zebra hide. i have been thinking long and hard on how to incorporate some color into our living room in a muted way and i love the non-color effect of the rust and mint tones. now, time to source the perfect shade of black and the right fabrics...

burberry platforms

loving the latest it shoe fresh on the scene: burberry prorsum suede platform pumps. how rad is it that miroslava mixed and matched them perfectly to go with her jacket? she always has an unexpected element to her style of dress that really makes her original.

get them here.

black + white

dying for a dress like this! i love the sweet + sexy contrast between the collar + the fit.

style tip: find a blouse with a pretty collar + layer under a black crew neck dress.

fall uniform

skinnies, flat boots + pullovers.

90's fashion at its best. i need a coat like that! don't you love how circular it all is? plaid is pretty hot right now.

(ph via pinterest)

two things

#1. the rule about no white after labor day is soooo antiquated. give it up.
#2. transitional dressing is all about the open toe bootie. take a cue from these style savvy fashion week attendees and pair them with skirts and skinnies for september.

isabel marant

we are headed to san francisco tomorrow and i will be making an immediate pop in to the isabel marant store in union square. i know these pieces are soooo spring 2011but i would pair that skirt with tights for fall and wear it into into spring 2012. i can't get enough of her waffle knits either. can't wait!

t by alex wang panne

i am exercising alot of restraint in resisting posting street fashion photos or anything from wang ss12 because, while i am totally tempted and inspired by the two from NYFW, i am aware of how inundated the blogosphere is with them right now. (however, should you want to see, you can find them here and here).

so, in an effort to bring fresh content, i present you with the t by alex wang panne velvet dress. i first saw it (top left) in the neimans book styled with a long coat, but am also imagining it for fall with a cropped fur jacked.

style it up with the right earring and a chignon or down with loose waves and your shaggy fur for a night out.

shaggy fur

remember when i professed my love of this look before here?

well, i found it's twin at zara online here...

it's possible it just needs a slight comb through. shaggy furs for fall are my jam!

print on print

i'm really feeling the look and feel of printed long sleeved blouses paired with printed pants and a simple clutch and heels. i personally prefer the slightly more structured look of olivia's cigarette pant vs the palazzo...which do you prefer?

get olivia's look c/o tibi here and here.

full skirted

i love the femininity of a full skirt and how easily it can be countered with a tough ankle boot or long sleeve tee. this piece is so awesome for fall in it's ability to transform with layers. add a blazer, a little structured jacket or even a trench of the right length then pair with tights, a scarf and a hat and let the outfit unfold as the pieces come off.

1. ASOS neoprene pleat skirt {here}
2. red valentino lace and taffeta mini skirt {here}
3. carven flared wool blend skirt {here}
4. tibi honeycomb jacquard mini skirt {here}

aspen photo diary

fitz and the tantrums/rodrigo y gabriela/barefoot in the grass/with my love/with the band/brothers/upon arrival/leaving.

i recently hemmed this rebecca taylor white lace dress and it is like an entirely new piece in my closet. i love how a little alteration can change an article of clothing like that. my layering wasn't well thought out so it ended up over a black tank and my beloved stone cold fox lace shorts, but i think it would be so cool over this. also wearing zara saddle bag and topshop booties.

it was my first time to see fitz and the tantrums. such high energy and really funky. love the horns. also randomly caught some rad guitarists called the congress. check them out!

friday inspo: more thigh highs paired with stars/pleated leather skirts/miro duma outfit inspo: cut offs, stripes + a blazer/on my wish list: skinnies in a light wash/the alexander wang fabiana {here}/turtlenecks and black lace/vintage fur, bucket bags + leopard heels/old world rustic elegance/it's all in the details.

and with that i am off to aspen! tell me, what are your weekend plans?

leopard heels

such a great way to spice up a black dress. try this pair.

style tip: leopard print works really well with red. pair these pumps with a red dress. or if you're feeling feisty, try these.
